The public rooms at the historic Halfway House, 246 Middleton Road, Glenside, Wellington, can be hired for small meetings, discussion groups or parlour type activities during the day.

About

The two public rooms at the historic Halfway House are the front rooms of an occupied home in the Glenside Reserve at Glenside, north of Johnsonville.

The rooms have been furnished (and are looked after) by the Glenside Progressive Association and are best suited for activities of a quiet nature. They have been furnished with antiques in a Victorian style. The house is complemented by a heritage farm garden in the Glenside Reserve.

The public rooms can be hired for small meetings, discussion groups or ‘parlour’ type activities during the day. They are not available for birthday or party functions. No alcohol is permitted. The house is adjacent to Twigland Garden Centre and Thyme Café.

Features

Capacity	Main dining room, oval dining table, seating eight. Drawing room, selected seating.
Cost	Commercial rate: $21 per hour. The venue may not be used for political meetings as it is a Council building. Community rate: $16 per hour. The booking party must be a not-for-profit community group for community benefit. Rates are charged to the nearest half-hour.
Availability	Monday to Friday: 9am–6pm. Bookings essential
Facilities	1 table and 8 chairs (not available for outdoor use). Wheelchair friendly public toilets, accessed from within the building. Kettle and bench unit with sink. Cups and saucers for small numbers. Good heating. Provide your own coffee, milk and tea.
Access	Small car-park for up to five vehicles. Wheelchair friendly access from car-park concrete pad to interior of house.
Other	Footwear must be removed before entering the house.
